Warming Center Supervisor
The Warming Center Supervisor oversees daily operations at the Warming Center, ensuring a safe, respectful, and well-managed environment for guests experiencing homelessness during extreme weather conditions. This leadership role involves supervising staff, handling guest concerns, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and supporting team coordination. The Supervisor is also responsible for crisis response, documentation, and maintaining strong relationships with community partners.
This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in a fast-paced, often high-stress environment.

2025 Servant Leader Intern
The Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) aims to build communities where young people grow up with dignity, hope, and joy. The CDF Freedom Schools® program, coordinated nationally by CDF in partnership with local organizations, offers educational and cultural enrichment through summer and after-school programs for children and youth. It also strengthens family and community involvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Boost Motivation: Encourage scholars to read and develop positive attitudes toward learning.
- Increase Self-Esteem: Help children and youth build confidence.
- Community Connection: Link children and families to community resources.
- Teach and Lead: College-aged young adults and recent graduates serve as Servant Leader Interns, teaching up to 12 scholars.
- Leadership Development: Provide opportunities for further leadership development and networking.
The program serves K-12 students for six to eight weeks, using an Integrated Reading Curriculum (IRC) aligned with Common Core State Standards. The IRC promotes reading, conflict resolution, social action, and cultural awareness, effectively preventing summer learning loss in reading achievement. Please click HERE to apply
