Dr. Katelin Hansen is a United Methodist Deaconess, in a life-long commitment to ministry of love, justice, and service. Katelin serves at United Methodist Church for All People, helping create a just, sustainable, mixed-income community for all people. In addition, Katelin serves as Chief Financial Officer for Community Development for All People, providing fiscal oversight and direction for its collective operations and ministries. Katelin serves as adjunct faculty at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio.
Katelin is a dynamic public speaker at the intersection of Jesus and justice, equipping individuals, nonprofits, and churches with the tools for inclusive church growth and effective community development. Katelin is the author of By Their Strange Fruit, which served as an online ministry to facilitate racial justice and reconciliation for the sake of the Gospel (2010-2019).
Katelin received her PhD in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University (2015), where she studied the role of miRNA regulation in hippocampal-dependent learning and memory. Prior to that, she received her B.A. in vocal performance and B.S. in biology from the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA.
